The designated Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Alexandru Munteanu, has unveiled the proposed composition of the new Cabinet of Ministers, along with the main priorities of the government program.
In a public statement, Munteanu emphasized that the team’s top priority will be ensuring sustainable economic growth, while accelerating the country’s European Union accession process.
“This is the team with which I will go to Parliament to request the confidence vote of the deputies. Our priority is economic growth and strengthening institutional capacity, so that the Republic of Moldova is ready to join the EU in the coming years,” Munteanu said.
Five Deputy Prime Ministers and Continuity in Key Portfolios
The new Cabinet includes five deputy prime ministers, comprising both current ministers and new appointments:

Eugen Osmochescu – Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization;

Vladimir Bolea – Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development;

Cristina Gherasimov – Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration;

Mihai Popșoi – Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs;

Valeriu Chiveri – Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration.
Five ministers from the previous Recean government will retain their portfolios, ensuring administrative continuity:

Additionally, Alexei Buzu, former Minister of Labor and Social Protection in the Recean government, will become Secretary General of the State Chancellery.

According to the announced schedule, Wednesday, October 29, Alexandru Munteanu will hold meetings with parliamentary factions to discuss the composition and priorities of the new government. Subsequently, on Friday, October 31, he will request the confidence vote of deputies on the Cabinet and its program.
The new government team aims to continue reforms in justice, energy, agriculture, and education, while strengthening strategic cooperation with European and international partners.
