Bucharest and Brussels, the first destinations of Moldova’s Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu for strengthening economic relations

Chișinău, November 5, 2025 – Moldova’s Prime Minister, Alexandru Munteanu, announced that the first official visits of his mandate will be to Bucharest and Brussels, signaling a clear focus on economic cooperation and European integration.

Speaking before the first cabinet meeting, Munteanu stated:
“Starting next week, my cabinet and I will begin trips across Moldova to discuss directly with citizens. Abroad, our first visit will be to Bucharest, followed by Brussels.”

The new government’s program, titled “EU, Peace, Development”, was approved by the Moldovan Parliament on October 31, granting the Cabinet a vote of confidence. Ministers took their oaths on November 1, and today, November 5, the first post-inauguration cabinet meeting took place.

The domestic agenda focuses on regional development, investment promotion, and structural reforms aimed at stimulating economic growth. The upcoming domestic visits will allow the government to engage with local authorities and entrepreneurs to identify opportunities and challenges.

On the international front, the visits to Bucharest and Brussels are strategic. Romania is one of Moldova’s main trading partners and investors, while Brussels represents the EU institutions that Moldova seeks to align with to attract funding, boost trade, and harmonize economic standards.

Analysts emphasize that the success of the Munteanu government will depend on the effective implementation of economic reforms and the ability to maintain a constructive dialogue with both domestic stakeholders and international partners.
