The Ungheni District Council, in partnership with the Ungheni Free Economic Zone, has officially launched the CEIDA Program (Educational Center for Identifying and Developing Skills), a strategic initiative designed to transform applied education into a driver of economic and social development.
The District Chairman, Mr. Dionisie Ternovschi, together with the FEZ Administrator, Ms. Natalia Iepuraș, met with CEIDA representatives – Aurelia Salicov, Gregoriana Tudoran, and founder Ciprian Lepădatu – to define the implementation steps and collaboration with the private sector.
Objectives and Strategic Vision
CEIDA aims to:
-
Identify and cultivate the talents and skills of young people;
-
Develop technical, legal, medical, and creative competencies with direct applicability in the labor market;
-
Increase school engagement, responsibility, and professional ethics;
-
Connect youth with the private sector to facilitate employment and integration into the local economy.
Applied Methodology and Educational Innovation
The program stands out for combining theory with practice. Technical workshops provide hands-on training in trades such as electrician, bricklayer, electronics technician, bulldozer operator, locksmith, as well as legal and medical professions. This applied approach ensures that participants gain not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills required by the labor market.
Economic and Social Impact
CEIDA’s implementation will generate multiple long-term benefits:
-
Increased employment opportunities for youth and adults;
-
Qualified workforce for local businesses, supporting business growth;
-
Attraction of investments due to the availability of skilled labor;
-
Strengthening of the district economy and improvement of community living standards.
Mr. Dionisie Ternovschi emphasized: “Investing in youth skills is not only an educational project but a strategic pillar for the district’s economic development.”
Next Steps
A meeting with private sector representatives will be organized soon to integrate local companies into the program and ensure the training of new employees required by the regional economy.
