A Social and Economic Council could be created in the Republic of Moldova, financed by the European Union

In the context of European integration, the Republic of Moldova is considering the creation of a Social and Economic Council, with financial support from the European Union

The initiative was discussed today at a roundtable organized by the Civil Society for European Integration, attended by representatives of the Bureau for European Integration (BIE) and government experts.

“On our path to Europe, we prioritize and encourage social peace through cooperation and transparent dialogue,” said the Bureau for European Integration team, emphasizing the importance of such a Council in facilitating collaboration between state institutions and civil society.

Rodica Jereghi, Deputy Head of the Bureau, highlighted the need to develop civil collaboration platforms, stating, “The Bureau remains open for any cooperation, aiming for a participatory European journey.”

Although the project is still in its early stages, with ongoing consultations, it represents an important step in adopting best practices from EU member states, including Romania.

The funding will come from both national sources and European funds, including support from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
