Today, Energocom presented its calculations for the electricity needs in November. Thus, for the coming month, it is estimated that SA Energocom will acquire approximately 380,000 MWh to meet the requirements of the right bank of the Dniester River, of which 202,000 MWh (about 53%) will be sourced from the Moldovan Thermal Power Plant in the Transnistrian region.
According to the forecast, the thermal power plants in Chișinău and Bălți are expected to generate around 95,000 MWh (25%). Additionally, it is anticipated that green energy parks and facilities will contribute 16,412 MWh, representing just over 4%.
Starting in November, SA Energocom will purchase 20 MWh of continuous power (available 24/7) from the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant in Romania, double the amount acquired in October. In total, 14,400 MWh (approximately 4%) will be bought from Nuclearelectrica, compared to the 7,450 MWh estimated for October.
Moreover, it is planned to purchase about 51,625 MWh from the Romanian OPCOM exchange (around 14%), mainly to cover peak consumption hours.
In October, Energocom estimated the electricity requirement for consumers on the right bank of the Dniester River at 344,000 MWh.
In October 2023, SA Energocom extended its electricity purchase contract with the Moldovan Thermal Power Plant in the Transnistrian region until the end of 2024, with an energy cost of $66/MWh.
