A new milestone for the Financial Market in the Republic of Moldova! The eVMS.md Platform for Direct Investment in Government Securities Has Been Launched

A platform for investing in government securities has been launched for the first time in Chișinău.

Ion Gumene, State Secretary, Ministry of Finance: “Government securities are fully guaranteed by the state. The nominal value is 100 lei. Unlike other instruments, the income from government securities will not be taxed.”

The platform for investing in government securities can be used by all citizens, including those in the diaspora.

Petru Rotaru, former Minister of Finance: “We aim to have the first issuance of securities in September, with an estimated value of about one billion lei. We will have a call center where citizens can receive assistance, ensuring that at the time of issuance, they can purchase these securities without intermediaries.”

Robert Reno, Acting Director, USAID: “This initiative encourages the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to invest in their future and contribute to the country’s development. We are extremely proud to support the Ministry of Finance through the USAID project ‘Transparency of the Financial Sector in Moldova.'”

Dorin Recean, Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova: “We should view these efforts as a joint endeavor by all institutions to organize public services, including investment services, for our citizens. This also contributes to the development of the capital market.”

The Ministry of Finance developed the platform between 2023 and 2024, with the support of the USAID project “Transparency of the Financial Sector in Moldova.”
