A total of 61 companies in the Republic of Moldova will benefit from grants amounting to 41.7 million lei to support business development. The non-reimbursable funding is provided with the support of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the European Union, and the World Bank. The grant contracts were signed today in Chișinău.
The grants are awarded through various programs managed by the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), including initiatives aimed at retooling and energy efficiency, supporting female entrepreneurship, and assisting the diaspora.
Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, emphasized that this funding will help attract investments totaling 100 million lei.
“Entrepreneurs are the backbone of our country’s economic development. Despite the challenges, you continue to invest, and the figures reflect this confidence. We have seen three consecutive quarters of steady investment growth, primarily driven by small and medium-sized enterprises that believe in Moldova’s future. We will continue to support entrepreneurs, listen to their needs, and actively work to address the challenges they face. There is still much work ahead,” stated the Deputy Prime Minister.
Vadim Codreanu, Director of ODA, also encouraged entrepreneurs to keep applying for the available programs, announcing that new support initiatives for companies in Moldova will be launched in the near future.
Additionally, he mentioned that authorities plan to adopt measures to digitalize the application process for funding programs, making access to financial support more straightforward.
In 2024, approximately 600 entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova have benefited from grants through various programs managed by ODA, supported by the Government and development partners.
