Maia Sandu meets members of U.S. Senate’s Committee on Foreign Relations

President Maia Sandu recently met with Democratic Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Christopher Murphy, who are members of the U.S. Senate’s Committee on Foreign Relations, during their visit to Chisinau.

The discussions revolved around the unwavering support of American partners for Moldova, the enhancement of the country’s democracy, and the strenghtening of its institutions.

During the talks, the head of state expressed gratitude for U.S. assistance in bolstering Moldova’s energy security, advancing judicial reform, and combating corruption. Additionally, the discussions touched upon regional security concerns. In this vein, President Sandu emphasized the crucial role of continuous U.S. support for Ukraine in its resistance against Russian military aggression. She emphasized that Ukraine’s resilience also ensures the security and stability of Moldova.
