Moldova took part for the first time ever at the Vinexpo Paris 2024 International Exhibition

For the first time ever, Moldova participated in the Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2024 international exhibition.

The country was represented by 18 wineries united under the national wine brand, Wine of Moldova. It was a remarkable debut. The event featured over 4,000 exhibitors who shared wine culture and products with more than 41,000 visitors from 137 countries.

According to the Embassy of Moldova in France, Moldova’s participation in Vinexpo Paris coincided with Wine of Moldova celebrating a decade of revolutionizing the national wine-making sector. During this period, exports were redirected to EU markets, and vineyard owners continued to invest in modernizing vineyards and acquiring state-of-the-art wine-making equipment.

On the final day of the event, Moldova hosted a masterclass led by British journalist and wine critic Robert Joseph.

‘’People fell in love with the Wine of Moldova and they share this passion with the others. Nevertheless, it is not easy for one to make his/her voice heard. Hence, Moldova is just at the beginning of the road,’’ Robert Joseph said.

„What we experience today is an opportunity. In the next decade, we might not speak about a revolution, but about a transformation or reinventing, especially in the wine-making industry. Moldova is a country with a rich heritage and industrious people. Our achievements in the wine industry represent a testament of the political and international support, but what‘s most important, of the dedication of our wine producers and of the resilience of or people. This is, I believe, the corner stone of our progress,’’ Moldova’s Ambassador to France Corina Calugaru said.

The involvement of native products in the Vinexpo Paris exhibition was made possible thanks to the support of ONVV and the Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity Project, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development in Moldova.
