Moldova’s Customs Service has launched the ‘Automatic Validation Procedure’

The Customs Service has launched today the “Automatic Validation Procedure,” which will facilitate trade and the work of economic agents.

The initiative was launched with the support of the EU project “Mission of the European Union High Advisors,”.

During the event, the head of the Customs Service, Igor Talmazan, specified that the application will streamline the interaction between economic agents and customs authorities.

“The automatic validation procedure of the export customs declaration will reduce waiting time. Subsequently, we intend to implement the automatic validation procedure of the import customs declaration as well. All these facilities are designed to facilitate the activities of economic agents,” said Igor Talmazan.

In turn, the EU High Advisor on customs and fiscal policy, Rosario de Blasio, mentioned that the automatic validation procedure of the customs declaration will bring tangible benefits to the business environment. “These procedures are welcome. We aim to enhance mutual trust between the Customs Service and the business environment for good collaboration and economic activities,” stated the official.

The automatic validation procedure of the customs declaration involves the digitalization and automation of operations. While previously the validation procedure took between 30 minutes to 2 hours, it will now take about 15 minutes.

The automatic validation procedure is now operational. The implementation of the measure has been tested, and in March, several economic agents will be trained on its application.
