Connectivity, Technology, and Vision: Visit of the CAPDR Delegation and the Romanian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce to MobiWire Ningbo
Ningbo, May 2025 – As part of the official visit to the People’s Republic of China, the delegation of the Center for Regional Development Analysis and Planning (CAPDR), led by Ion Ștefanovici, was accompanied by the Romanian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, under the leadership of Mr. Nicolae Vasilescu, together with Ms. Viorica Dăncilă – former Prime Minister of Romania and current promoter of economic relations through the Viorica Dăncilă International Foundation.
MobiWire: Global Infrastructure, Centralized Vision in Ningbo
The MobiWire Group follows a China-centered development model, with its R&D and logistics hub in Ningbo, where President Peter Xiguang Xu coordinates a global network of manufacturing and software centers. The organization covers all four strategic pillars:
- Carriers & telecom (global operators)
- OEM mobile (equipment for established brands)
- Industrial IoT
- EMS – electronic manufacturing services, including for the automotive industry (Geely, BYD, CATL)
“At MobiWire, we witnessed a model of efficiency and industrial innovation rarely seen. It is an example of how global production networks can be set in motion quietly, yet with high performance.
The Moldova Region can become a serious partner for such companies – offering fast access to the EU market, proximity to the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, and a coherent regional vision, which we are building through MoldovaHUB, FERM 2025, and other strategic initiatives.
We aim to be included in the international technological circuit – not just as a market, but as an active hub for production, testing, and development,” stated CAPDR President, Ion Ștefanovici.
Final: Real Obstacles, Possible Solutions
Despite the openness of the business environment, structural barriers persist that slow down bilateral economic dynamics. One of them is the lack of a direct air route between Bucharest and Beijing, which complicates logistics for meetings, trade exchanges, and investments.
It is essential for public policies to support real economic directions, and such seemingly technical measures can make the difference between stagnation and genuine connectivity.
