The discussions took place in Baku in the context of the meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council. During the meeting, the two officials analyzed prospects for cooperation in the natural gas sector, regional demand dynamics, and the opportunities arising from the ongoing liberalization process of the natural gas market in the Republic of Moldova.

Minister Dorin Junghietu emphasized the need for pragmatic policies to support the launch of new projects in the gas sector, while simultaneously accelerating the transition toward cleaner energy sources.

Energy Security and Regional Cooperation

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy underlined that, amid the transformations on the European gas market, the development of flexible infrastructure, the harmonization of regulations, and the strengthening of regional partnerships are becoming essential to ensure long-term security of supply.
