EBRD will provide 150 million euros for rehabilitation of roads from Moldova

Today, the Government approved the ratification of the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development regarding the implementation of Project V for the rehabilitation of roads in Moldova.

The Agreement entails contracting a loan totaling 150 million euros. This amount represents 50% of the co-financing for Project V road rehabilitation, with the remaining portion allocated by the European Investment Bank.

With the funds provided, the M2 road, the beltway around Chișinău, sector 2, will be rehabilitated and upgraded by extending it to four traffic lanes, covering an estimated length of seven kilometers. Additionally, approximately 85 kilometers of the M1 road, spanning from the border with Romania – Leușeni – Chișinău – Dubăsari – to the border with Ukraine, will undergo rehabilitation.

These two national roads are part of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), establishing connections with Romania and directly with the European Union, promoting trade and enabling citizens to travel quickly and safely.
