H.E. Ambassador Mohammed Abdulghani M. Khayat on Saudi Arabia Day: We are working together to take the relationship with Romania to the next level
His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Abdulghani M. Khayat, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Romania, emphasized the pivotal role of Saudi Arabia and the bilateral relationship between the Kingdom and Romania during a reception held in Bucharest.
“I am honored to welcome you to the celebration of the 94th anniversary of the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is a day remembered by every Saudi, when King Abdulaziz achieved a miracle, unifying such a vast country. His sons, the kings of Saudi Arabia, have continued and continue to develop Saudi Arabia into the modern state you see today. Indeed, the Vision 2030 project aims to transform our economy, enhance social development, and empower women and youth.
Ladies and gentlemen,
In our bilateral relations with Romania, we work together, side by side, to strengthen our ties and elevate the relationship to a higher level.
On this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude to the Romanian authorities for their incredible support and cooperation.

Saudi Arabia has played a significant role in promoting peace and stability, cooperating with the international community to resolve conflicts, maintain and establish peace. Unfortunately, at present, there is no peace in Palestine. Peace will come when the Palestinian people have their rights, live in peace and prosperity, and the Palestinian state is fully recognized by the international community,” concluded the head of the Saudi diplomatic mission in Romania.
The meeting was also attended by the President of CAPDR, Ion Ștefanovici, who met both His Excellency Mohammed Abdulghani M. Khayat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and His Excellency Chen Feng, the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Romania. The discussions highlighted the importance of economic diplomacy as an essential tool for leveraging collaboration opportunities and attracting strategic investments in areas such as energy, trade, tourism, and regional development.
“In a dynamic international context, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia emerges as a strategic partner for Romania, and economic diplomacy becomes the key to capitalizing on collaboration opportunities in energy, trade, investment, and tourism.” stated the President of CAPDR, Ion Ștefanovici.
About Vision 2030
Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 project is a major initiative launched in 2016, aimed at diversifying the national economy and reducing dependence on oil resources.
Key areas include stimulating the private sector, developing tourism, modernizing infrastructure, and attracting foreign capital. Vision 2030 also encompasses significant social reforms, such as enhancing the role of women in the workforce and strengthening the education system.
