This year’s theme is “Teaching and Learning Face to Face with Artificial Intelligence.”

The proceedings will be opened by the special guest, Professor Mircea Miclea, PhD, from “Babeș-Bolyai” University in Cluj-Napoca, former Minister of Education.

More than 500 participants have registered for the Romania–Republic of Moldova Education Forum.

Liliana Romaniuc, president of the Romanian Literacy Association and one of the event’s organizers, stated on the Starea Educației program that integrating artificial intelligence into the teaching process requires caution, adjustments in teaching methods, and a deep understanding of the risks and benefits for students.

Liliana Romaniuc added:
“We must acknowledge that these AI applications are seductive — they truly fascinate you, and you tend to believe that everything they produce is good, but not everything is good. The errors and hallucinations are significant. I believe that we, teachers, must first understand for ourselves what AI can do, the dangers it may bring, and how it can influence or affect student learning. Beyond that, I think the way we teach and the way we assess must fundamentally change. We are in a different era. The time when the teacher was the only person who possessed knowledge and shared it with others — those times are gone.”
