Ion ȘTEFANOVICI, CAPDR: “Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern Europe – a strategic priority”

The delegation of the Center for Regional Development Analysis and Planning (CAPDR), led by President Ion ȘTEFANOVICI, is currently participating in the official meeting of the China–CEEC Business Council, held in Ningbo – a port city symbolic of China’s economic openness and commercial diplomacy

We believe that relations between China and Central and Eastern Europe must be strengthened through economic, technological, and institutional partnerships. This is why we have decided to publish a delegation journal, offering daily reflections on the perspectives, challenges, and opportunities emerging from this cooperation framework.

Ion Ștefanovici, CAPDR: “Central and Eastern Europe, our bridge to China. Romania must get back in the game”

Today we completed official registration, engaged in early exchanges with delegations from Europe and China, and began outlining areas of common interest. We particularly emphasized the importance of ensuring that Central and Eastern Europe becomes an active and visible player within this multilateral cooperation platform.

Romania, through CAPDR, is committed to promoting the Extended Moldova Region as a future hub for strategic cooperation.

We strongly believe that the future is built through bridges, not walls. And this bridge between China and Central and Eastern Europe needs vision, professionalism, and coordinated action.

Unfortunately, Romania currently has no direct flights to China. Our layover in Frankfurt significantly increased the duration and difficulty of the journey. Other European countries, such as Germany, show a clearer understanding of the importance of fostering bilateral relations with the People’s Republic of China.
