Moldova and Canada Strengthen Strategic Partnership in Security and Economic Development

Moldova and Canada continue to deepen their cooperation in key sectors essential for the country’s development and resilience, including security, economic growth, and democratic governance.

In this context, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi held a meeting with Canada’s Ambassador to Moldova, based in Bucharest, Gavin Buchan, to discuss joint projects aimed at supporting the modernization of institutions and Moldova’s European integration path, reports IPN.

Vice Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi highlighted Canada’s consistent financial and technical support over the years, emphasizing its importance in addressing regional challenges and strengthening Moldova’s institutional capacity.

“Canadian assistance, including programs focused on enhancing energy and democratic resilience, significantly contributes to the modernization of our infrastructure and the strengthening of our institutions,” said Mihai Popșoi.

Both parties reaffirmed their shared interest in developing concrete projects to further consolidate the Moldova-Canada partnership and generate tangible benefits for citizens of both countries. Cooperation includes knowledge transfer as well as support for strategic reforms, with direct impact on Moldova’s economic stability and sustainable development.
