Moldova and Romania Sign a New Partnership Agreement to Strengthen Economic and Managerial Cooperation

In a significant step toward deepening bilateral economic relations, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova (CCIM) and the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova (DRRM) under the Romanian Government have signed a new Partnership Agreement.

The event was hosted by CCIM President Sergiu Harea and attended by DRRM Director General with State Secretary duties, Constantin-Valentin Răducan.

Strengthening a Strategic Partnership
Over the years, CCIM and DRRM have developed a robust collaboration that has facilitated the implementation of joint projects supporting the business environment and fostering economic cooperation between Romania and Moldova. The new agreement aims for broader engagement in all areas of CCIM’s activities, including exhibitions, international relations, training, and professional development programs.

According to the signatories, the agreement provides a consolidated framework for projects addressing current economic challenges and supporting entrepreneurs in both countries. In particular, it focuses on transferring best practices and know-how from the Romanian private sector to Moldova, emphasizing managerial skill development and enhancing the competitiveness of Moldovan companies.

“Moldova–Romania Managerial Capacity Enhancement” Program
A key element of the partnership is the “Moldova–Romania Managerial Capacity Enhancement” program, scheduled from October 28 to November 28, 2025, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The program aims to provide Moldovan managers with practical experience in the Romanian business environment, exposure to modern management practices, and opportunities to develop international professional networks. Participants will attend training sessions on corporate development strategies, marketing, innovation, digitalization, and investment attraction.

Economic Impact of Bilateral Cooperation
In recent years, the Moldova–Romania economic partnership has yielded significant results, including infrastructure projects, facilitation of trade exchanges, and support for SMEs in internationalization processes. The new agreement comes amid growing bilateral trade, with Romania being one of Moldova’s main trading partners.

In the medium and long term, the managerial program and other initiatives under the agreement are expected to:

• Increase the competitiveness of Moldovan companies through implementation of international management standards;

• Stimulate investments and cooperation in strategic sectors such as IT, light industry, agriculture, and tourism;
