Norway Provides Additional Support to the Republic of Moldova to Strengthen Its Defence Capabilities

Norway will provide the Republic of Moldova with a new package of support aimed at strengthening its defence capabilities, a decision announced by the Norwegian authorities.

Strengthening National Resilience

According to the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Moldova, the Norwegian assistance is aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and enhancing national and institutional resilience in response to the security challenges generated by Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Support for Modernising Defence Capabilities

The Ministry of Defence welcomed Norway’s decision and expressed its appreciation for the commitment of the Norwegian authorities to the security of the Republic of Moldova. The new assistance is regarded as a contribution to the process of modernising and developing the country’s defence capabilities.

Cooperation for Regional Security

The authorities in Chișinău stressed that the support provided by Norway can contribute to strengthening peace, stability and security. The Ministry of Defence also expressed its readiness to deepen bilateral cooperation with Norway in the field of defence, as part of broader efforts to strengthen regional security.
