President NICUȘOR Dan in Cahul on the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova: Romania Reaffirms Its Support and Commitment to the Republic of Moldova

President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, begins official visit to the Republic of Moldova in Cahul on the 35th anniversary of the country’s Independence

The Romanian head of state visited the construction site of the new headquarters of the “Bogdan Petriceicu Hașdeu” Republican Musical-Dramatic Theatre, a project of significant symbolic importance for relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

The Programme Continues in Chișinău

Following his visit to Cahul, President Nicușor Dan will continue his programme in Chișinău. At 2:35 p.m., he will be received by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, at the Presidential Palace.

The two heads of state will subsequently attend the official events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Republic of Moldova’s Independence.

Romania–Republic of Moldova–Ukraine Trilateral Meeting

In the evening, Chișinău will host a trilateral meeting, which will also be attended by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The meeting will bring together the leaders of the three countries at a significant moment for the region and for cooperation between Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

Festive Concert in the Great National Assembly Square

The day’s programme will conclude in the Great National Assembly Square, where, after 9:00 p.m., the three presidents are expected to attend the festive concert dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova.

A Message of Solidarity

The presence of the President of Romania at the Independence Day celebrations reaffirms the close ties between the two countries and Romania’s continued support for the Republic of Moldova.
