Republic of Moldova Seeks to Attract Saudi Investment in Agriculture and the Food Industry

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Moldova, resident in Bucharest, Khalid Eid Alshammri, during which they discussed prospects for deepening bilateral relations, attracting investment, and expanding trade between the two countries.

Interest in Saudi Capital

The Prime Minister highlighted the Republic of Moldova’s interest in attracting investment from Saudi Arabia, with a focus on agriculture and the food processing industry. The authorities are seeking to capitalize on the economic potential of both markets and develop new cooperation opportunities for the business community.

Expanding Moldovan Exports

Another topic discussed was the identification of solutions to increase Moldovan exports to the Saudi market. In this context, Moldovan agricultural products represent one of the main categories with potential for expanding their presence in this market.

Support for Promoting Investment Opportunities

Ambassador Khalid Eid Alshammri expressed his willingness to contribute to promoting investment opportunities offered by the Republic of Moldova among companies and business leaders in Saudi Arabia.

The diplomat emphasized that promoting these opportunities and fostering economic cooperation are among the main objectives of his mandate.
