Republic of Moldova Included as an Associated Partner in Regional Cross-Border Cooperation Plan
The Republic of Moldova has been included, at Romania’s proposal, as an associated partner in the Strategic Action Plan for Regional Cross-Border Cooperation between Greece, Bulgaria and Romania. The initiative aims to coordinate projects and investments in transport infrastructure and strengthen cross-border connectivity across the region. The information was communicated by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR), in the context of Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea’s participation in the Connecting Europe Days event held in Brussels.
Strengthening Regional Connectivity
The Republic of Moldova’s participation in the plan creates new opportunities for cooperation with Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and other European partners. The initiative seeks to improve the coordination of investments in transport infrastructure and support the integration of the Republic of Moldova’s national infrastructure into regional and European networks.
Discussions with European Officials
On the sidelines of the Brussels event, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea held several meetings with European officials and representatives of partner countries. The discussions focused on regional cooperation, infrastructure development and strengthening the Republic of Moldova’s connectivity.
Among the interlocutors were Bulgaria’s Acting Minister of Transport and Communications, Korman Ismailov, European Coordinator for the Baltic Sea–Black Sea–Aegean Sea Corridor, Mario Mauro, Executive Director of the European Union Agency for Railways, Oana Gherghinescu, as well as representatives of Romania.
