The Republic of Moldova Strengthens Its Wine Exports to the Romanian Market: Over 40 Wineries Present in Bucharest

Over 40 Wineries from the Republic of Moldova Showcase Their Wines in Bucharest. Eugeniu Osmochescu: “Moldovan Wine Is Becoming an Increasingly Strong Ambassador for the Country”
More than 40 wineries from the Republic of Moldova are taking part in the sixth edition of the Moldovan Wine Festival in Bucharest, showcasing their wines, sparkling wines and divins. The event brings together both established producers and smaller wineries, providing them with an important platform to promote their products on the Romanian market.
Wine – an Ambassador for the Republic of Moldova
Speaking at the event, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Eugeniu Osmochescu highlighted the positive evolution of Moldovan wines on international markets and the increasingly important role of the wine sector in promoting the image of the Republic of Moldova.
“I want this encounter with Moldovan wine not to end with the festival. I hope the wines discovered here will continue to be sought after, reach people’s tables and carry the taste and name of the Republic of Moldova abroad,” the minister stated.
Romania, the Main Export Market
Romania continues to be the most important foreign market for Moldovan wines. According to data from the National Office for Vine and Wine (ONVV), Moldovan wine exports to Romania reached approximately USD 45 million in 2025.
Currently, around 70 wineries from the Republic of Moldova are present on the Romanian market, confirming the strengthening of trade relations and growing consumer interest in wine products from across the Prut River.
A Platform for Promotion and New Partnerships
The festival provides Moldovan producers with the opportunity to engage directly with the Romanian public, promote their products and develop new business relationships. The programme includes wine tastings and sessions dedicated to discovering wines from the Republic of Moldova, as well as masterclasses led by sommeliers.
Moldovan Wine Gaining Greater Visibility on International Markets
The strong participation of wineries in the event reflects the dynamism of the wine sector in the Republic of Moldova and producers’ efforts to expand their international presence. Through events of this kind, Moldovan wine is strengthening its position on foreign markets and becoming an important tool for promoting the identity and image of the Republic of Moldova.
The Moldovan Wine Festival in Bucharest is organised with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Romania and the National Office for Vine and Wine.
