Trump: “The agreement is fully signed”

Speaking at the G7 summit in France, Donald Trump said the document had already been signed and that its details would be made public after Friday’s official ceremony.

“The agreement is fully signed. The strait is already partially open, and on Friday it will be completely open,” the US president said.

Vice President JD Vance added that the document had been digitally signed on Sunday and that no funds had yet been released to Iran.

Strait of Hormuz to reopen after months of disruption

The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is seen as one of the most significant outcomes of the agreement. The waterway is one of the world’s most important routes for global oil and natural gas shipments.

JD Vance stated that Iran could eventually gain access to a reconstruction fund worth up to $300 billion, financed by Gulf Arab states, provided that Tehran complies with its commitments.

Situation in Lebanon could affect the future of the deal

One of the most sensitive issues remains the conflict in Lebanon. Iran insists that any cessation of hostilities must include all fronts, including clashes between Israel and Hezbollah.

Although fighting in southern Lebanon reportedly eased after the announcement, hostilities have not completely stopped. Lebanese media reported a drone strike allegedly carried out by the Israeli military that killed one person.

Israel views the agreement with caution

The Israeli government has not officially commented on the agreement between Washington and Tehran. However, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the military would continue operations in southern Lebanon to eliminate threats considered dangerous to Israel’s security.
