The theme of the speech was: „Emergency Care for Children in the Cross-border Region.”
The need for a universal and transcultural approach to the economy
Protosinghel Alexandru Moroșan emphasized the importance of a universal approach to economic aspects, noting that they must be integrated into a global, transcultural, and interdenominational context: „Economic aspects must be approached in a universal, global, transcultural, and interdenominational domain.”
He also highlighted the dynamics of technological evolution and the impact of current research on sustainable development and economic sustainability, stressing that these changes continuously influence all levels of society.
The role of the church in social care
Referring to the Church’s involvement in social services, Alexandru Moroșan emphasized the constant dedication of the Church in Bukovina towards the residents of Suceava County. Beneficiaries, whether children, young people, or the elderly from disadvantaged backgrounds, need stability and sustainability in the social services they receive. He remarked: „Romanian society, in general, lacks an education in volunteering and supporting social causes.”
This gap in social education creates difficulties in supporting, promoting, and developing social services.
Social economy as a sustainable solution
Protosinghel Alexandru Moroșan proposed social economy as a solution for the sustainability of social services and the reintegration of beneficiaries into the community, explaining that when social economy is correlated with the concept of circular economy, it can bring significant benefits in environmental protection and digital and energy efficiency: sSocial economy contributes to reducing inequalities, promotes social inclusion, and can offer sustainable solutions to current economic and social problems.”
Community projects and Initiatives
Within the Saint John the New Association of Suceava, Protosinghel Alexandru Moroșan highlighted ongoing services and projects, including:
- Home-based Medical-Social Care Service
- Family Medicine Clinic
- Projects such as „Caring for Helpless Elders”, „A Christmas for Everyone”, and „The Medical Caravan”
These initiatives aim to support and develop the local community, focusing on the importance of social economy.
The Arimateea Project, an innovative approach
SC Arimateea ASR SRL is an innovative project that promotes the valorization of spontaneous vegetation and cultivation for medical and therapeutic purposes, manufacturing traditional monastic recipes and developing new therapeutic formulas. Protosinghel Alexandru Moroșan explained that the final goal of this project is social, with revenues being redirected to research and development or to existing social services: „We valorize the vegetal heritage of Bukovina and offer high-quality products and classic-innovative therapeutic formulas.”
In conclusion, Protosinghel Alexandru Moroșan emphasized the importance of focusing on social and community benefits within cooperatives and social enterprises, rather than profit maximization. He reminded the vital role of social economy in building a more equitable and resilient economy, in the context of current economic and social challenges.
