Interview with the Moderator of the Health Panel at the Regional Economic Forum Moldova 2024, Adriana MIHALAȘ, General Secretary of the Bucharest Medical College
Topic: „Short-Term Health”
Adriana MIHALAȘ, General Secretary of the Bucharest Medical College, provided an interview to the economic magazine Moldova Invest from the perspective of her role as both moderator and main organizer of the Health Panel at the Regional Economic Forum Moldova.
As the moderator and architect of the Health Panel, can you tell us on what criteria you based the configuration of the Health Panel for the Regional Economic Forum Moldova 2024, 18th edition?
We configured the panel based on the urgent needs of the healthcare system in the region, prioritizing topics such as the autonomy of physiotherapists and training of specialists in cardiorespiratory rehabilitation. We selected relevant experts in the field to address current challenges and opportunities, ensuring that discussions would have a concrete impact on regional policies.
What were the conclusions of the discussions and the working format of the Forum?
The discussions highlighted the need for closer collaboration between medical units and local authorities, as well as the importance of developing innovative solutions to address the shortage of medical staff. In particular, proposals for joint shifts and the use of telemedicine were well received. We concluded that it is crucial to attract and retain specialists in the region through measures of delegation and detachment.
What are your expectations for the future, and how should these discussions be structured in terms of projects and actions with short, medium, and long-term impact?
In the short term, we aim to implement the discussed initiatives, such as training trainers and organizing emergency courses. In the medium term, we plan to establish solid partnerships with academic institutions and attract European funding for equipment and infrastructure. In the long term, we aim to transform the Humor area into a center of excellence for respiratory rehabilitation, a project that will require continuous involvement and support from all stakeholders.
