Module IV – Romania – Republic of Moldova Cooperation through the Moldova Region, 18th Edition of the Moldova Regional Economic Forum, Vatra Dornei, 2024
SPEAKER – Ion ȘTEFANOVICI, President of the Regional Analysis and Planning Center (C.A.P.D.R.)
TOPIC: „Romania – Republic of Moldova Cooperation Platform: CAPDR Project”
„It is an honor to speak to you today about the crucial role that the Regional Analysis and Planning Center (CAPDR) plays in the Extended Moldova Region, a vital space for cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
CAPDR represents a central pillar in strengthening economic and social ties between the two countries. Through strategic initiatives, we support sustainable development and the implementation of cross-border projects that bring direct benefits to communities in both states. The MOLDOVA 2030 Strategic Objective, outlined during the Regional Economic Forum Moldova held in 2024 in Vatra Dornei, Suceava, reflects our shared vision for the future. This objective emphasizes European integration, economic growth, and improving the quality of life for citizens throughout the region.
„CAPDR is in direct collaboration with the relevant ministries in Bucharest and Chișinău, supporting projects in the areas of central and local public administration, including development, investments, European projects, tourism, economy, energy, and culture”
A concrete example of our joint efforts is the project “Best Practices and Knowledge Transfer for Strengthening Administrative Capacity in Regional Development Policy between Romania and the Republic of Moldova,” submitted by CAPDR in collaboration with ADR Chișinău to BRCT Iași. This project represents just one of the many initiatives through which we aim to strengthen administrative capacity and promote knowledge exchange between the two countries.
CAPDR is in direct collaboration with the relevant ministries in Bucharest and Chișinău, supporting projects in the areas of central and local public administration, including development, investments, European projects, tourism, economy, energy, and culture. At the same time, we have established collaborative relationships with all ADRs in the Republic of Moldova: ADR Chișinău, ADR Nord, ADR Centru, ADR Sud, and ADR Găgăuzia, which we directly support through ROREG and ADR Nord-Est, in collaboration with the President of ROREG and the General Director of ADR Nord-Est, Mr. Vasile Asandei. The 2024 edition of the Regional Economic Forum Moldova has affirmed cooperation in the Romania-Republic of Moldova-Ukraine framework, shifting the focus of this collaboration to the North-East Region of Romania by establishing a common working platform for the three countries.
Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to continuing this regional development mission together.
Respectfully,
Ion ȘTEFANOVICI,
President of the Regional Analysis and Planning Center”
