Panel „INVESTMENTS”
Module V – Cooperation of the ADRs from the Extended Moldova Region between the Ministries of Development from Bucharest and Chișinău, the XVIIIth Edition of the Moldova Regional Economic Forum, Vatra Dornei, 2024
SPEAKER – Ion ȘTEFANOVICI, President of the Center for Regional Development Analysis and Planning (C.A.P.D.R.)
TOPIC: „Joint Project: C.A.P.D.R. – ADR Chișinău”
Ion Ștefanovici, President of the Center for Regional Development Analysis and Planning (C.A.P.D.R.) delivered a speech regarding the joint project between the Center for Regional Development Analysis and Planning (C.A.P.D.R.) and the Regional Development Agency (ADR) Chișinău.
During his speech, Ion Ștefanovici highlighted that „The results from the older ADRs in the Republic of Moldova, such as the one in NORD (ADR Nord), speak for themselves. Another example is the Ungheni Free Economic Zone, with expertise that is extremely relevant for the Republic of Moldova, which needs to be recovered and used appropriately in the context of Moldova’s pre-accession to the European Union”.
Ion Ștefanovici, President of C.A.P.D.R., emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Center for Regional Development Analysis and Planning (C.A.P.D.R.) and the Regional Development Agency (ADR) Chișinău through the project “Best Practices and Knowledge Transfer for Strengthening Administrative Capacity in Regional Development Policy between Romania and the Republic of Moldova” (REG RO-MD). This project aims to strengthen the administrative capacity of ADR Chișinău, a newly established institution, and facilitates the transfer of experience and best practices from the Romanian partner.
The project is part of the Interreg Europe 2021-2027 Program, an EU-funded initiative that supports local and regional governments in developing and implementing effective development policies. It aims to create an environment conducive to exchanging solutions and best practices in regional development, promoting interregional cooperation, and creating opportunities for learning and resource sharing.
Ion Ștefanovici highlighted that the Regional Economic Forum Moldova is “an extremely favorable context” and described the guests from the ADRs as “people who make a difference”, adding that “Institutions refer to them when it comes to public administration, universities, and, in general, the educational environment, health, and so on, all of which are funded through ADRs”.
Ion Ștefanovici further explained that ADRs are vital entities in the process of implementing regional development policies in the European Union: „The European Union functions through ADRs”.
Our joint project will facilitate ADR Chișinău’s access to practical experience and knowledge necessary to understand the 2021-2027 Financial Exercise:
„We hope that our project will be funded and then we will get to work: to help ADR Chișinău quickly get into everything that means the ‘internal workings’ of the 2021-2027 Financial Exercise”, concluded the President of C.A.P.D.R.
