This edition of the Moldova Invest magazine is special, dedicated exclusively to one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in Romania – the A7 Highway, also known as the Moldova Highway. This project represents not only a physical connection between the south and north of the country but also an essential pathway towards the economic, social, and cultural development of the Moldova region.

The decision to dedicate this edition entirely to the A7 Highway was made during the Moldova Regional Economic Forum, now in its XVIII edition, which took place in July 2024 in Vatra Dornei. The event brought together key players from the public, private, and academic sectors, all aware of the transformative impact this highway will have on the development of our region. The actions and initiatives discussed there, under the coordination of CAPDR (Center for Analysis and Planning of Regional Development), established a firm course of action: to maximize the economic and social potential of this crucial project.

The A7 Highway is not just a highway – it is a backbone for the development of Moldova. It will connect communities, stimulate trade and investments, and provide new opportunities for every locality it passes through. Furthermore, this infrastructure will strengthen the connectivity of the Moldova Region not only with the rest of Romania but also with Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, facilitating economic exchanges and international collaborations that are essential for regional economic growth in a geopolitical context.

In the pages of this edition, you will find articles dedicated to the economic impact, public-private collaborations, as well as the role that local administrations play in capitalizing on this project. MoldovaHUB, a new regional center for innovation and collaboration supported by the A7 Highway infrastructure, will play a central role in centralizing business initiatives, investments, and international collaborations, transforming the region into a hub of economic growth in both national and European contexts.
