MOLDOVA BUSINESS WEEK 2024, a vital platform for promoting the economic potential of the REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA
Moldova Business Week 2024 (MBW 2024), the most important economic forum in the Republic of Moldova, brings together over a thousand participants from September 16-20, including foreign investors, local entrepreneurs, high-ranking officials, and economic experts.
The event takes place in four key regions of the country: Chișinău, Edineț, Ungheni, and Bălți, and includes 13 events dedicated to strategic sectors of the national economy.
The 2024 edition marks a first – the forum’s expansion to the regional level, providing direct access to development and collaboration opportunities for entrepreneurs across the country. The event focuses on essential economic sectors such as the agri-food industry, automotive, electronics, energy and infrastructure, IT, tourism, and winemaking. Additionally, emerging sectors with high growth potential, such as the pharmaceutical industry and medical tourism, are being explored for the first time.
OFFICIAL OPENING AND THE MOLDOVA-EU INVESTMENT FORUM
The official opening of MBW 2024 took place on September 16 in Chișinău, marked by the presence of officials from the European Union and the Government of the Republic of Moldova. On the same day, the Moldova-EU Investment Forum offered investors financing opportunities in areas such as renewable energy, the circular economy, and the financial sector.
INNOVATION, TECHNOLOGIES, AND REAL ESTATE MARKET
On September 17, in Chișinău, the forum continued with events dedicated to the non-residential real estate sector and cutting-edge technologies. The “Real Estate Forum” analyzed Green Building developments and investments in tourism real estate, while the “StrategEast State and IT Eurasian Forum” addressed the measures needed to stimulate the innovative economy.
AGRIFOOD AND ELECTRONIC INDUSTRY
On September 18, in Edineț, participants explored the interconnection between the agricultural sector and the electronics industry, a field with significant development potential in Moldova. Also, on the same day, the startup community had the opportunity to attend the “Silicon Drinkabout” event in Chișinău, aimed at strengthening the local IT ecosystem.
TOURISM, WINEMAKING, AND AUTOMOTIVE
Today, September 19, Ungheni is hosting an event dedicated to tourism and the wine industry, highlighting the importance of this economic sector for Moldova, one of the largest wine producers in the world. Additionally, study visits in the automotive industry, a rapidly growing sector in Moldova that has attracted significant investments in recent years, will take place in Bălți.
