An ambitious project comes to life after 7 years: The Cultural Center in Bucșești, Poduri Commune, Bacău County will enhance the local community’s life through medical, educational, and cultural services
In an interview with the economic publication Moldova Invest, the mayor of Poduri Commune, Diana Miclăuș, provided details about the completion of an important project for the village of Bucșești: the cultural center. The project, which is now in its final stages of work, promises to bring multiple benefits to the local community.

Functions and facilities of the cultural center
“After the completion of the works, the medical dispensary, which is currently in a poor condition, will be moved to the cultural center“, said Mayor Diana Miclăuș. “Additionally, a library and a large hall for various activities and events will be set up. The hall will be used for both educational activities and cultural events at the commune level.”
Project financing
Asked about the source of funding, Diana Miclăuș explained: “Funding came from the National Investment Company. Although the project was initially funded from the local budget, the investment was too large to be covered entirely by the local budget, so we requested and received support from the National Investment Company. We have been working on this project for about seven years.”
Challenges encountered
Regarding the challenges encountered during the project, Mayor Miclăuș mentioned: “The main challenge was the lack of funds. This is a common issue for many projects. It also took a longer time to complete the necessary documentation and to get it approved by the National Investment Company. After we received the approval, the work progressed much faster, and now the materials used are of very good quality, such as granite, which has contributed to increased costs.”
Plans for the future
In closing, the mayor expressed a desire to offer additional services to the community: “If the opportunity arises, I would like to mention that, in the future, if we have free spaces, we will make them available to citizens for free medical consultations. According to the law, we are not allowed to charge fees in the first 15 years, but we want to provide quality services for the community in Bucșești and the entire commune.”
The Bucșești cultural center project represents a significant step towards the development and improvement of the local community’s life. With the completion of the works expected by the end of the year, residents can look forward to modern and functional facilities that will bring multiple educational and cultural benefits.
