Record Investment in the Bacău County Commune of Gura Văii! €6 Million Contract for the Modernization of the Water and Sewer Network

On Monday, August 12, 2024, the Mayor of Gura Văii Commune, Silviu Tinei, along with Bacău PSD Deputy Costel Dunavă and Bacău County Council Vice President Gelu Panfil, attended the signing of a major investment contract at the Ministry of Development

The contract, worth €6 million, was secured through the National Investment Program “Anghel Saligny” and represents the largest investment ever made in the Gura Văii Commune.

The project, titled “Integrated Project for the Establishment of the Wastewater Sewer Network and Modernization of the Potable Water Network in Gura Văii Commune, Bacău County,” aims to modernize the essential water and sewer infrastructure in the locality. Key components of this project include:

– Establishing a self-sustaining water source through the capture and treatment of surface water.
– Constructing a modern wastewater treatment plant to ensure the treatment of wastewater before its discharge into the Trotuș River.
– Implementing an extensive network for the collection of wastewater, covering the entire area of the commune.

Mayor Silviu Tinei highlighted the importance of this project, noting that the approval received is the result of over two years of effort aimed at bringing Gura Văii up to modern infrastructure standards. “As the final households await the provision of potable water, we have managed, during the 2020-2024 term, to secure a major non-repayable funding through the ‘Anghel Saligny’ National Investment Program for sewerage. The local budget effort is also substantial, amounting to over 1,250,000 RON, which will require prudent and judicious budget management,” said the mayor.

Additionally, the mayor expressed gratitude for the support provided by Bacău PSD leaders, particularly PSD Bacău President Dragoș Benea, the team of PSD deputies and senators from Bacău, and Cornel Panțiru, the General Secretary of Gura Văii Commune, for their dedication and efforts in obtaining the more than 20 approvals necessary for signing the contract.

This investment represents a significant step toward improving the quality of life for residents of Gura Văii and will ensure access to modern basic services, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the commune.
