8.2 Million Lei Investment for a State-of-the-Art Angiograph and New Medical Projects at Botoșani County Hospital

At the beginning of December, the “Mavromati” County Emergency Hospital in Botoșani will receive a state-of-the-art angiograph, valued at 8.2 million lei (approximately 1.65 million euros)

This addition marks a critical step in enhancing cardiovascular diagnostics and treatments, allowing for precise investigations directly in Botoșani. Until now, the hospital could not employ an angiography specialist, forcing local patients to travel to other counties or seek costly services at private clinics.

The acquisition procedure, recently completed by the hospital’s Procurement Committee, has selected the winning company, which will prepare the angiograph’s dedicated space and install the device by early December. This advanced medical equipment aligns with Botoșani County Council’s strategy to modernize local healthcare infrastructure, ensuring significant investments in cutting-edge technology to improve access to healthcare services.

Over the past four years, Botoșani County Council has secured substantial EU and government funding to implement major development projects for the hospital. These include constructing a new Emergency Room, energy rehabilitation of the Maternity Ward, modernizing the Food Block and SMURD, expanding the Oncology Department, and creating a new Specialized Outpatient Department. The total value of completed or ongoing investments exceeds 50 million euros, underscoring local authorities’ commitment to a modern and well-equipped healthcare system.

Additionally, three new hospital projects are prepared: one for Pediatrics, one for Psychiatry, and a hospital in Săveni. The Ministry of Health recently issued a feasibility approval for the new Pediatric and Săveni hospitals, now included in the National Investment Program for Healthcare Infrastructure. Local authorities are awaiting funding channels to open so that construction can begin.
