A day center dedicated to the elderly will be built in Botoșani

A day center dedicated to the elderly will be built in Botoșani. The necessary documentation for the construction of a day center for the elderly has been finalized, and the procurement process for awarding the construction contract will soon begin, following the approval of the project’s value and the technical-economic indicators by the Local Council.

The project, titled “Establishment and equipping of a day center for elderly people in the municipality of Botoșani,” has been submitted and funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Component 13 – Social Reforms. According to the documentation, the project involves the construction and establishment of a day care and recovery center for elderly people, in partnership with the administrative-territorial units of Răchiți and Curtești communes.

The total value of the investment objective is estimated at 18.5 million lei, including VAT, and the center will cover a built area of 454 sqm, with a two-story structure. The construction duration is expected to be 22 months but no later than May 30, 2026.

“Through the implementation of this project, we are making an important and necessary step toward caring for and supporting the elderly! The construction of the center will bring multiple benefits to the community. It will allow seniors to enjoy specialized and personalized services, maintain their independence, and improve their quality of life,” said the mayor of Botoșani, Cosmin Andrei.

The day center will be built on Mihai Eminescu Boulevard, at the city’s exit, and will be part of the Urban Complex Iașului Road. It will serve approximately 50 daily beneficiaries for assistance and recovery, and 25 seniors for home care services.

The following services will be provided:

• medical services (medical office, psychosocial counseling, etc.)
• personal care services (hairdressing, cosmetics, etc.)
• multifunctional space for physical recovery (physical therapy room/massage/physiotherapy/medical gymnastics)
• multifunctional spaces for psychological recovery measures, sensory room
• multifunctional spaces for leisure activities (movement and physical activities in the gym/gymnastics, occupational therapy/artistic activities, etc.)
• dining area
• spaces dedicated to home care services
• storage spaces

Additionally, alleys, parking spaces, and green areas will be arranged. The center’s operating hours will be adapted based on the beneficiaries’ needs.
