€8.6 million funding secured for six day centers for the elderly in Botoșani County

Nine municipalities in Botoșani County have submitted projects under the PNRR for the construction of day centers for elderly people. Six of these have already secured funding and are set to start the procedures for the construction and equipping of the centers

“Under Component 13, managed by the Ministry of Labor, six administrative units have managed to attract 8.6 million euros for the construction of six day centers for assistance and rehabilitation of elderly people. These include Botoșani city, Flămânzi and Darabani towns, and the communes of Drăgușeni, Concești, and Havârna. We also have three administrative-territorial units on the reserve list, namely Hilișeu-Horia, Cristinești, and Stăuceni. There are six projects with secured funding, and some mayors have already signed the financing contracts, so construction of these centers will soon begin”, stated Doina Federovici, President of Botoșani County Council.

One of these day centers will be built in Botoșani city, with the project valued at nearly 1.5 million euros.

“We are focusing on the elderly people in Botoșani city, and through this project, we will establish a day center. The project is at an advanced stage. We have the technical documentation and will soon invite bids for the construction, equipping, and operation of the center. The center will be located on Șoseaua Iașului, next to the nursery. The project’s value is 7.2 million lei and aims to serve 50 elderly people for day care and 25 people for home care. We are partnering with the communes of Răchiți and Curtești, with the obligation to accommodate people from these communes. There is an effort that we will share with our partners since we have a ten-year sustainability period,” added Cosmin Andrei, the Mayor of Botoșani.
