Romania launches the M100 platform to transform cities into smart and climate-neutral cities
Today, Romania inaugurated M100 – the National Platform to support cities in transitioning to smart and climate-neutral cities.
M100 represents a strong commitment of the country in the fight against climate change, providing a coordinated national hub at the inter-ministerial level.
The main goal of M100 is to support 10 cities in Romania in adopting sustainable development practices and implementing action plans for climate neutrality. The selection of cities will be made through an open call for project proposals, offering specialized technical assistance, training, and necessary information to facilitate the transition to a green economy.
The M100 platform will facilitate the exchange of experience and best practices among cities, promoting innovation and the integration of smart solutions in energy, transportation, and resource management sectors. These model cities will play a crucial role in demonstrating the feasibility and impact of climate change mitigation measures at the local and national levels.
M100 marks a significant step towards a greener future for Romanian cities, emphasizing the involvement and determination of local and central authorities in achieving sustainable and responsible urban development.
