Romanians will have all their documents in one place, in digital format, after the implementation of the Single Digital Gateway, an investment of 96 million lei

Today marks a crucial moment in the process of digitizing the Public Administration in Romania, as the Romanian state takes a significant step towards implementing the Government Cloud. At the Victoria Palace on Tuesday, the contract for the implementation of Romania’s Single Digital Gateway (PDURo) was signed, with an investment worth 96 million lei excluding VAT.

PDURo will replace an existing platform managed by the Romanian Digitalization Authority, known as the Single Electronic Contact Point, with a new platform compliant with European regulations for the single digital gateway.

This new platform will allow Romanian citizens to pay taxes and duties, as well as obtain all necessary documents, including ID cards or passports, without the need to endure long and tiresome queues.

The Minister of Digitalization ensures that even those working abroad will have a much simpler way to update their documents. By the end of December, at least 30 institutions must be connected to this platform.

Today, the contract for the implementation of the Romania’s Single Digital Gateway project was signed, a significant step towards modernizing and streamlining public services in Romania.

Bogdan Ivan, the Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization, stated: “We will have all our documents in the ‘wallet’ section. We will be able to receive notifications 30 days before these documents expire, we will be able, with a click, to schedule the date and time to go and sign, to take a photo for our driving license, ID card or passport, and in this formula, we will have a deliverable directly for each Romanian who wants to integrate into this formula 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We will not depend on the schedule of a counter, on the mood of a civil servant, but we will have the simplest possible interaction with everything that the Romanian state represents, from home, from vacation, from abroad for studies. Once this module is integrated (…), any Romanian anywhere in a European country or anywhere in the world will be able to connect to this unique portal of Romania.”
