At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Romania’s Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, held direct and focused discussions with global leaders, including Eric Trump, President of the Trump Organization, and Isaac Herzog, President of Israel
In a closed-door setting, he presented Romania’s strategic directions and opportunities for cooperation in energy and emerging industries.
“I clearly presented Romania’s role in a rapidly changing world and emphasized that additional energy production can support the industries of the future, especially artificial intelligence factories,” said Bogdan Ivan.
Strategic projects and energy hubs
The Minister highlighted major projects that could transform Romania into a regional energy hub:
Expansion of the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant capacities.
Development of hydropower projects and optimization of existing resources.
Creation of energy hubs capable of powering artificial intelligence infrastructure.
The meeting with Eric Trump was described by Bogdan Ivan as “the most solid and relevant contact with the Trump administration in the past year,” sending a clear message: Romania has credibility, projects, and a real chance to become the region’s leading energy hub.
