Top Romanian investment funds have delivered gains of over 45%!
The top five local open-end investment funds (OPCVM) reported net annual returns (after fees) ranging from 45.6% to 52.1% over the past 12 months. As of June 2024, there were 703,569 investors in these funds, according to data from AAF.
The top 5 local open-end funds by 12-month performance are:
- ETF BET Patria Tradeville – 52.1%
- Certinvest BET Index – 51.4%
- BT Maxim – 47.3%
- Certinvest XT Index – 46.7%
- BT Index Romania ROTX – 45.6%
Over a 36-month horizon, these funds continue to show remarkable performance. The top five funds achieved returns between 65.4% and 76% over the past three years (up to June 2021).
The net assets of the 94 local open-end funds increased by 3.1% in June, reaching 24.4 billion RON (4.9 billion EUR). Since the beginning of the year, these assets have grown by 20%.
In June, local open-end funds saw net inflows of 466 million RON (93.7 million EUR), with the most attractive being equity funds (+221.8 million RON), diversified funds (+99.8 million RON), funds classified under “other funds” (+78.1 million RON), as well as bond and fixed income funds (+65.8 million RON).
The net assets of the 119 foreign open-end funds distributed in Romania increased by 3.8% in June compared to the previous month, reaching 2.1 billion RON (0.42 billion EUR), and have grown by 13.8% since the beginning of the year.
Overall, the net assets of the 248 open-end and closed-end funds, both local and foreign, increased by 4.2% in May, reaching 46.4 billion RON (9.3 billion EUR). Since the beginning of the year, these assets have grown by 17%, with net inflows for the month totaling 477 million RON (96 million EUR).
