CNI Launches Tender for Iași Polyvalent Hall: Over 330 Million Lei Investment, Two-Year Execution Period
The National Investment Company (CNI) has officially launched the tender for the construction of the long-awaited Iași Polyvalent Hall, a strategic project estimated at over 330 million lei (excluding VAT). The investment will be fully funded by the state budget, and interested contractors have until November 1st, 2024 to submit their bids.
This tender comes seven months after the government approved the technical-economic indicators for the investment. The technical design was initially prepared several years ago by the local firm Sigm Home Projects SRL, which also provided documentation for the city’s new stadium, now relocated to the Bahlui Plain. The design was revised in the summer of 2023 to reflect the latest construction standards and cost adjustments. The funding for the technical documentation was covered by the local budget of Iași.
Construction Must Be Completed in Two Years
The winning contractor will have two years to complete the construction, once selected. The future Polyvalent Hall will be located in the Moara de Vânt area, next to the future Regional Emergency Hospital (SRU), another key project currently in the bid evaluation phase.
Technical Details: A Modern Hall with 10,000 Seats
The new Polyvalent Hall will feature an impressive architectural structure, with a basement, ground floor, two stories, and a partial third story. The hall will have a seating capacity of nearly 10,000 people, making it one of the largest event venues in the region. The total area of the building will be approximately 40,000 sqm, with a footprint of around 13,000 sqm.
The structure will be built with reinforced concrete and will feature a modern metal roof. The design includes four independent sections, separated by seismic joints that will help manage seismic activity and reduce stress caused by the expansion and contraction of concrete, ensuring the building’s long-term stability and safety.
A Multifunctional Complex: Training Rooms, Commercial Spaces, and VIP Areas
More than just an event space, the complex will include training rooms, commercial areas for the public, a medical office, storage spaces, VIP areas for special events, and technical spaces located under the stands, designed to accommodate a wide range of sports, cultural, and entertainment activities.
Second Attempt at Tendering After 2022 Cancellation
This is not the first attempt to tender the construction of the Polyvalent Hall. In January 2022, the Iași City Hall organized a similar tender, but at that time, there was no guarantee of funding. The contract was then valued at 213 million lei, but due to the significant increase in construction material prices, the technical project required a complete revision. The tender was canceled before the bids were opened, and the local authorities began seeking financial support from the government.
After numerous discussions and commitments, the government, through CNI, officially launched the tender yesterday, marking the start of a project considered crucial for the development of sports and cultural infrastructure in Iași.
