The number of passengers served by Chișinău International Airport increased by 42% in the first nine months of 2024

The number of passengers served by Chișinău International Airport has recorded a 42% increase in the first nine months of the current year, reaching a new historical record of 3,092,903 travelers registered since the beginning of 2024.

Specifically, September concluded with a total of 443,975 passengers embarked and disembarked. Forecasts regarding this aspect were exceeded by 130.6%. Compared to the same month in 2023, the number of passengers served in September 2024 increased by 32%, which is approximately 107,000.

Regarding aircraft movements, there were 3,293 landings and take-offs.

The destinations that experienced the highest growth in passenger flow include Antalya, London, Istanbul, Rome, Milan, Sharm el Sheikh, Tel Aviv, Frankfurt, Vienna, Baku, and Venice.

On new routes, 30,070 passengers were transported in September, representing 6.77% of the total passenger flow.

Data from the cargo segment indicate that in the past month, approximately 277.5 tons were transported, marking a 29.8% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
