Neamț County Council has launched a public tender for the development of the feasibility study required for the Piatra Neamț Bypass investment
Project Overview
In an interview with the economic publication Moldova Invest, Andrei Carabelea, the Mayor of Piatra Neamț, emphasized the importance of the “Piatra Neamț Bypass” project, which has long been on the municipality’s priority list. The discussion touched on both the significance of the project and the challenges associated with its implementation.
Mayor Carabelea highlighted the crucial role this project will play in the town’s development, stating that “the completion of the Piatra Neamț Bypass will bring significant benefits to the residents of the municipality, improving mobility and reducing traffic within the city.”
Challenges and identified solutions
Addressing the challenges encountered, Mayor Carabelea acknowledged that the project is not without its difficulties. He explained that “at present, the implementation of this project is not directly managed by the municipality; it is under the coordination of CNAIR and the County Council. However, the municipality has made efforts to be included in the partnership formed for this project, emphasizing that we believe we must have an active role in discussions and direct involvement in the project.”
Planning and execution
Regarding the project’s planning, Mayor Andrei Carabelea stressed the need for a well-thought-out approach: “It is very important to have rigorous planning for this project, to closely monitor every step of the implementation, and to have thorough documentation prepared by specialists from the feasibility study phase.”
He also noted that “there is no need to rush, but rather to focus on efficiency,” referring to the importance of avoiding delays in the project’s execution due to inefficient planning.
When asked about the implementation timeline, Mayor Carabelea provided a realistic estimate: “I hope we find solutions quickly and that the technical and economic indicators are approved as soon as possible by the Ministry, so that, hopefully, within a year and a half, we can launch the tender for design and execution.”
Final Thoughts
The conversation with Mayor Andrei Carabelea highlighted not only the project’s importance for the local community but also the complexity of the implementation process. Although the challenges are numerous, effective collaboration and careful planning are essential to making the project a success. “Good collaboration is essential in this case,” the mayor concluded, emphasizing the commitment to keeping the community informed as the project progresses.
