Day Center for Children with Disabilities in Câmpulung Moldovenesc Funded by PNRR: An Important Step for the Community
The local authorities in Câmpulung Moldovenesc have launched the tender for an essential community project: the construction of a day center for children with disabilities. This center will provide recovery services and specialized assistance, thereby contributing to the social integration of these children and preventing situations of family abandonment
In the municipality of Câmpulung Moldovenesc, there is a significant number of children with disabilities (60 children) who suffer from various complex conditions such as diabetes, tetraparesis, muscular dystrophy, leukemia, and others. These conditions have necessitated the creation of a day center that can offer appropriate support and care for these vulnerable children.
Contacted by the economic publication Moldova Invest, the mayor of Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Mihăiță Negură, emphasized the importance and necessity of establishing a recovery day center for children with disabilities.
Impact of the Center on the Community and Families
The mayor spoke about the impact this center will have on the local community and, in particular, on the families with children with disabilities. “The local authorities are ready to address these issues and alleviate the difficulties faced by both families and children,” he stated. He also highlighted that the center will offer a specialized program supported by experts who will contribute to the proper care and socialization of these children. “There will also be a physiotherapy room, as well as several rooms equipped with devices for these children,” the mayor added.
Community and Social Partners’ Involvement
Asked about the long-term plans and community involvement in supporting the center, the mayor mentioned that “this center will be coordinated by the Social Assistance and Child Protection Directorate of the City Hall.” Moreover, considering that this is a small community of approximately 22,000 residents, the mayor expressed confidence that “certainly, economic agents will also be involved and contribute to such initiatives.”
