The project, with a total value of 500,000 euros, will be fully funded by European Union funds, and the financing contract was signed earlier this month between Rădăuți City Hall and the Ministry of Energy
Mayor Bogdan Andrei Loghin conducted a working visit to the site designated for the photovoltaic park. In his statements, Loghin emphasized the importance of this project for the local community. “The investment in this photovoltaic park is crucial for Rădăuți. The project will significantly contribute to reducing electricity costs, covering approximately 99% of the municipality’s electricity consumption,” said Loghin.
Paul Meleteu, the Technical Director of Rădăuți City Hall, provided details about the project’s stages and objectives in an interview with Moldova Invest. “We recently issued an order for the project implementation team, which includes members from the Technical Department, Procurement, as well as technical and managerial responsibilities,” Meleteu explained. “This team will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all the necessary stages for the successful implementation of the photovoltaic park.”
The project aims to bring significant benefits to the municipality. “The main impact of this photovoltaic park will be a substantial reduction in electricity costs. We expect to offset approximately 99% of the city’s self-consumption, which will directly affect electricity bills,” Meleteu emphasized. He added that the project would contribute to reducing dependence on traditional energy sources and support the transition to more ecological solutions.
In addition to the economic benefits, Meleteu also discussed the project’s impact on urban planning. “We are considering using this opportunity to relocate certain activities from the city center to the Tolocii area. This will not only reduce blockages and discomfort in the urban center but will also contribute to the development of the city’s outer region,” the technical director explained. “By moving some activities to this area, we aim to avoid traffic congestion and improve the quality of life in the city center.”
Regarding the project’s visualization, Meleteu mentioned that the team is working on finalizing the plans and renderings. “We have hired a consultant to conduct feasibility studies and detailed planning for the project. Soon, we will have the schematics and renderings available, which will provide a clear picture of how the photovoltaic park will look and function,” the Rădăuți City Hall representative stated. “As soon as we have these materials, we will make them public to offer transparency and inform the community about the project’s progress.”
Rădăuți City Hall is committed to keeping the community informed about the project’s progress and to providing all necessary information to ensure its efficient and successful implementation. This photovoltaic park represents not only a step towards energy efficiency but also an example of sustainable development that can bring multiple benefits to the city and its residents.
