SUCEVIȚA Commune: a touristic and cultural paradise, in a state of continuously development
Sucevița is counted among the most beautiful communes in Romania. The community has developed itself around the Sucevita Monastery, whose presence adds a rich heritage of spiritual, historical, touristic, and cultural nature.
Under the leadership of Mayor Dorin Ioan Pînzar, the Sucevița commune benefits from an extensive investment program. In recent years, the authorities have incorporated into their local development strategy a robust plan of actions focused on increasing local attractiveness through investments in various projects in this domain.
The attainment of the status of tourist resort of national interest was a significant moment for the Sucevița commune. Mayor Dorin Ioan Pînzar explained that this status facilitated access to funds for the development of local tourism, the increase in employment opportunities, and the implementation of investments that have improved the standard of living for residents.
Currently, the Sucevița Town Hall is undertaking a series of important projects to improve infrastructure and public services. These projects include enhancing the energy efficiency of schools, modernizing the public lighting system, expanding the water and sewerage network, and strengthening the teaching capacity of the local secondary schools.
The current year is opportune for conducting an assessment for the period 2020-2024. Please list the most significant achievements of the Sucevița Town Hall during the mentioned period.
Over the past 4 years, a series of projects have been implemented for the development of our locality, including:
- Sports field with artificial turf and a playground for children (completed project). The completion of this project ensures the smooth conduct of sports activities at the primary school in the commune, while providing a conducive environment for the harmonious development of children attending school. The project was funded from the local budget, with an allocated amount of 197,288.65 lei without VAT.
- Another important project for the residents of the commune is the Voievodeasa Mortuary. This investment was necessary to improve the conditions for the liturgical proceedings at the Orthodox Church in the village of Voievodeasa. The project was funded from the local budget, with an allocated amount of 295,775 lei.
- A third project we refer to is the construction of a multifunctional cultural center, a project that is nearing completion. The source of funding is represented by funds from the National Investment Company (CNI), with a value of 4,107,512.67 lei without VAT.
In the context of the commune of Sucevița being declared a tourist resort of national interest in 2017, please elaborate on how this status has influenced the development process of the locality under your leadership.
The attainment of the tourist resort status for the Sucevița commune has facilitated the access to funds for the tourism-oriented development of the commune, an increase in employment opportunities, and the implementation of investments aimed at improving the standard of living for the residents of the commune.
What are the projects currently being implemented in the Sucevița commune?
The projects currently in the process of implementation in the Sucevița commune are as follows:
- Increasing the energy efficiency, rehabilitation, and extension of the Dimitrie Vatamaniuc Primary School with grades I-VIII in Sucevița.
- Enhancing the energy efficiency, rehabilitation, and extension of the Voievodeasa Gymnasium in Sucevița.
- Modernizing the public lighting system in the Sucevița commune, Suceava County.
- Developing the local management system through the implementation of smart infrastructures in the Sucevița commune.
- Expanding the water and sewage network on 16 streets.
- Modernizing the road infrastructure in the Sucevița commune, Suceava County.
- Increasing the coverage and inclusiveness of the property registration system in rural areas of Romania.
- Consolidating the teaching capacity of the Gymnasiums in the Sucevița commune.
What investment objectives do you have in mind for the future?
The investment objectives we have in mind for the future include:
- Defending the banks of the Sucevița stream and its tributaries to prevent the risk of flooding.
- Developing a recreational park named “Adventure” that will provide opportunities for relaxation and entertainment for the residents and visitors of the Sucevița commune.
- Constructing a modern and well-equipped medical center to ensure access to quality healthcare services.
- Implementing capacities for the production of energy from renewable sources for the self-consumption of the Sucevița commune, through the construction of a photovoltaic park. This will contribute to reducing dependence on traditional energy sources.
