What the Minimum Inclusion Income Represents
The Minimum Inclusion Income is a unique social assistance program, regulated by Law no. 196/2016, aimed at supporting vulnerable individuals and families. The program has two main components: inclusion support and support for families with children, with the goal of improving living conditions.
Replacement of Previous Forms of Social Support
The MII was designed to replace previously granted social aids, namely the Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI) and the Family Support Allowance (FSA). This reform is part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), under the “Social Reforms” chapter, milestone 384.
Objectives of the Social Reform
The measures introduced through the MII aim to reduce poverty among vulnerable individuals and simplify administrative procedures, both for local authorities and beneficiaries, contributing to a more efficient and accessible social assistance system.
