Zăpodeni Commune, Vaslui County, invests 3.3 million RON in a day care center for seniors and home care services

Zăpodeni Commune, Vaslui County, will benefit from a strategic investment in social infrastructure: the construction of a day care and recovery center, part of a multifunctional complex that will also include a home care unit.

The project, awarded through a simplified procedure to the company SCIR, has a total value of 3,342,642.10 RON (excluding VAT) and will be carried out on a 6,420 sqm plot, part of the public domain of the commune. The contract includes both design and technical assistance as well as execution of the works, following modern criteria for energy efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

• Height regime: Ground floor, with a maximum height of 7.65 m.
• Built area: 690.61 sqm.
• Class and importance category: III and C – buildings of normal importance.
• Fire resistance level: II, low fire risk.
• Urban indicators: FAR 10.75%, occupancy ratio 0.10.
• Facilities and functionalities: specialized spaces for assistance and recovery activities, installations and utilities compliant with current standards, parking, pathways, and green areas for recreation.

The project includes a complex phasing: documentation for permits and approvals, technical design, actual execution, and monitoring of the building’s performance over time. Additionally, the winning company will provide technical assistance throughout the warranty period of the works.

The new center will provide recovery, supervision, and socialization services for the commune’s seniors, reducing social isolation and ensuring an appropriate care environment. The home care unit component is a local first, facilitating support for individuals who cannot travel to the center but require medical and social assistance. Through the adopted construction solutions, the building will have a low environmental impact and reduced operating costs, translating into long-term budgetary savings.

The implementation of the project involves local labor, and subsequently, the center will generate new jobs for personnel specialized in social and medical assistance. The project marks a significant investment in Zăpodeni’s social infrastructure, contributing to the creation of a safer and more dignified environment for the elderly population – an increasingly large demographic segment in rural areas.
